Protecting Historic Tonge Hall

Tonge Hall is an Elizabethan manor house dating back to the late 1500s, which was sadly almost destroyed by fire in 2007.

The H Bells team are working hard to completely replace the scaffolding and protective covering, to prevent the weather from causing more damage to this historic building.

We have removed significant amounts of weeds and young trees from the area and laid stone ground cover to minimise the rate of vegetation regrowth. The old scaffold is bing carefully removed, with brand new support scaffolding being installed to give long-lasting protection.

A full covering will be erected over the roof, as the previous cover had large pieces missing after years of weather activity.

Whatever the future holds for this once-magnificent building, it will be much better protected once our project is complete.
