Louise spent the 6th of March at Rochdale Training with The Talent Foundry spending time working with Rochdale students from St Cuthberts, Oulder Hill, St Anne’s & Hollingworth & Wardle high schools.
On the shop floor at RTA, the attendees learned how apprentices train, practising writing programmes for the CIC and Lathe machines to manufacture spinning tops on the day!
The students really got involved, leading to some great interaction. Throughout the entire mentoring programme they are learning some valuable Skills for Life. Our group told us what they were most proud of after 2 sessions on the programme.
Away from the machinery, the day focused on interview techniques, top tips and ways to promote themselves.
This is a very worthwhile programme that H BELL AND SONS LTD are pleased to support. It’s been an absolute delight to work with so many students with a wide variety of career aspirations.
Louise came back very enthused! – “You never stop learning on days like this. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being on the shop floor and working with the lathe, making products from scratch using our own learned skills.”
